Comments:
The training position in Rheumatology at Flinders Medical Centre is a shared position with Immunology. It sometimes has an Advanced Trainee in Immunology occupying the position but usually is occupied by an advanced trainee in Rheumatology. The trainee has Immunology outpatient responsibilities, including Allergy testing and Immunotherapy in addition to Rheumatology outpatient and inpatient responsibilities. The position is usually occupied for one year and trainees will then rotate to either Repatriation General Hospital or one of the other training positions in Adelaide (Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital). The Rheumatology Unit at Flinders Medical Centre is closely aligned with the Immunology Unit and there is a strong laboratory and research base within the Immunology Unit which is available to the Advanced Trainee in Rheumatology.
